The community. I've learned far more about chess from other users of this site, particularly in the blogs, articles and forums, than from any other aspect of Chess.com. This is an incredible, engaged community.
The free cheese has to be the biggest plus

It is a tough one to answer. I have to say just about everything on this site is great. Best thing is i can only see it getting better. Just shows the great work and vision of Erik and his team.
I like all I've seen. It's a place to play with all sorts of people, something not easy to find. Great site!
its lack of checkers snobs
all around great site. forums, online chess, live chess (despite disconnects) tactics trainer ect...just awsome...i love the people in my groups and i ignore the idiots so its all good

the entertainment value
I'm really getting into this new video section for diamond members. I also love being able to look at other peoples games and play with the anaylsis board.
one thing i love about this site is that it has been very generous to the free users, without too much restrictions compared to the other sites. Anyway, its without doubt the best chess site around! Lots of fun..planning to go "diamond"!!

many great things about chess.com but I guess my favorite is that there are many players with a similar rating to my own, so it's almost always easy to start a new game rather quickly with an appropriate opponent. definitely not the case with all on-line chess sites.
it's free.
