I'm not looking for chess software and engines used by grandmaster, But beside chess.com inventory, is there any available chess analysis software for amateurs like me who is really eager to learn the game.

To play against and some training, one free possibility is called Lucas Chess. It comes with a number of chess engines.

For analysis, you could do much worse than use the software here on Chess.com.

I use Fritz 16 and Chessbase 14, but those are paid products.

Ah ha! Guess the move software is for playing over an annotated games, especially move by move. Free! Chess hero has the same concept but it is for random position because it does not show commemts. I suggest you to use Guess the move to play over the game couple of times then change to Chess hero.

Chess hero is also free. Both come with nice sample pgn!

I was looking for some experienced players to comment these software. ed1975, do you have any ideas on how I can better improve my use of these software? I don't like the fact that Guess the Move does not have "start from move" option & that it does not show the variation. Chess Hero annoys me because I have to press play after each move to continue & it does not show comments/annotations.
