What kind of openings should a PRACTICAL player play?

I'm thinking Trompowsky or Torre Attack as White and Sicilian and KID as Black.

To reduce study you can play things like the London, the queen's gambit declined and the Scandinavian.

KID / KIA combo would require a lot of theory... but if you enjoy those positions then IMO it doesn't really matter. Playing whatever you enjoy could be considered a practical answer in its own way.

I tend to play the KID naturally as black i've even beaten my coach once with it so that's why i play it. I don't get bogged down by theory as it is my natural game.

I saw a game in the Tromposwsky actually it was a guess the move training exercise on chesstempo.com  and i thought it is a very natural opening to play

Yeah, I think the tompowski is a good practical choice. It's not a bad opening at all, plus you get to play it on move 2 so black doesn't have a chance to avoid it (as long as he played Nf6).

I don't think that the Sicilian and the KID are usually seen as "practical" choices. Of course, if you like them, ...
