What means " STUDY " in tactics puzzles??

Im currently using Manual of Chess Combination 2, which is a tactics puzzle book
the author used the word STUDY, what means?? am i STUDYING when i am solving those puzzles??
how much time should i used to do each puzzle then if they call it study??
and should i really study and try to memorize every puzzles ( attacking positions ) given?? or just simply solving it like in tactics trainer here??

study=study a way to resolve the puzzle, so you became more fast in a game

It's a composition, rather than taken from a game.

Usually, the moves are very precise i.e. there's only one way to win, and it demonstrates a specific idea.
