White has two threats, winning the bishop, and Nd7 (double check) winning the queen.
So the idea is to move your king out of check in a way that black can't make any big threats to counter balance your two threats.
But when you don't know the idea, and you've spend a few minutes calculating, then pretend it's a real game and just guess. At that point it doesn't matter if you get it right or wrong, what matters is you study the solution.
