Fischer

And my dad

MapleDanish

In my heart? ... wow...

Well I'd have to say that if you expect to get anywhere you have to value your own skills highly but I am NOT the best chess player ... yet.

Mihail (oft spelled Mikhail) Tal was the most brilliant player who ever mated another man's king.

chessfanforlife
Tal is pretty good.Too bad he died early.Same as Fischer....They both had great potential.

Gud day mr.chessfanforlife, Your question could be a good gauge of the popularity and influence of former great chess players among chess.com members, but I never suspected from your header(WTF?)- I guess you meant this. However, me I admire the styles of 1) Tigran Petrosian-'The Great Defender' and 2) Aron Nimzowitsch-'The Great Teacher'

I like Josh Waitzkin.

Why is this forum called What the Frog.

What happened to grenouille?

Phil_from_Blayney

For me, I greatly admire Viktor Korchnoi.

His fighting chess always inspires me. His success/es when everyone told him he was too old, his wife and kid were being detained in Russia, etc speaks volumes for the man's resolve and ability.

I also find his passion for chess, he explains it as that he is always searching for the exceptions to the rules, is a revelation and inspiration.

Dutch_Defense
Chuck Norris.

OK, with one it is too hard to answer my favorite would then be PaulAkibaKarlEmmanuelLenoid MorphyRubensteinSchlecterLaskerStein

I agree with Tonydal Tarrasch was very good and did not get the credit deserved as well neither did Schlecter an earlier version of Petrosian.

OK I cheated, I would Say Paul Morhy, then Lenoid Stein as a player that has a winning record against Fischer and not much is ever heard of him.

Wow, that last postition is one I would like to analyse. I see that almost any response by white leads to mate... I need a board to check all responses. Nice game, you have any more of them?
