I got gifted a chess set when I was 5 by my grandparents. It was the one my parents had bought for my uncle, my mother’s brother. He died in a building accident.

Started at age 15 in 1971. That's a bit late, which partly explains why I'm still a pooch.
Seriously 3 months however I’ve known how to play pretty decent for a while

I don't remember the exact age, but i was a kid 
I enjoy playing chess
6, learnt at home and then we had lessons in school so I won the school trophy every year bc I was the only one who already had practice hahaha.

I heard somewhere that you cant be a grandmaster unless you've started playing chess when you were 6 years old which sounds ridiculous to me, but i'm wondering about other's experience. my purpose for this thread is to see if age REALLY matters THAT much.
