I recently was asked by someone, how about a game, I play the Scandinavian def, I know it inside out!!? so my opponent replied to 1.e4 with his pet ...1.d5 so I replied 2. Nc3 my opponent after a long thought my opponent played ...2.d4 and play continued 3.Ne2,C5 4.d3,Nc6 5.g3 and though blacks game was perfectly OK his unfamiliarity in the middle game meant his position deteriorated and white won in 27 moves. I asked him what was the opening then, my opponent scratched his head?!! I told him in chess a chosen opening is only so as long as your opponent accommodates you!!
