🇱🇷There are so many terms I don't know, Where do I look to find out what they mean on here or do I have to search the internet? ( I.e. 3 check, flank, live, arena, Swiss, Open Swiss, those are just a few, any help would be appreciated.

3 check is a mode where the first person to deliver 3 checks wins

Flank isn’t a thing

Live means something is happening right now

Arena is a tournament that ends in x ni ver of minutes and u play as many rounds as u can

Swiss is a tournament with rounds

Open means any rating is allowed to join

Hope I helped!

3-check us a variant where the first to give 3 checks wins.

Flank means side or from the side. It is often said that a premature flank attack is best countered in the center.

Live describes games played continuously with time controls ranging from one minute bullet to 60 minute rapid. Live games are  distinguished from daily games which have a minimum time control of 24 hours per move.

A Swiss is a method of tournament pairing where those with similar total win/loss scores are paired.  An open Swiss is open to all ratings.
