what’s the average IQ of a regular chess player

I'm 120 IQ I think that is high average but I am a meh chess player
Then again I am only 13 so I could still improve!

I am 11 My IQ is 148. I hope to reach 2500 in 1.5 years.
If your IQ is that high, you should shun chess. It is a waste of your potential.

the average iq of a chess player is probably the same as the average iq of the average adult human. 100

I am 11 My IQ is 148. I hope to reach 2500 in 1.5 years.
good luck
It's also important to know that age plays a role in IQ, for example if you know things a 20 year old would know at age 15, you'd have a higher than average iq; However, if you're a 20 year old who knows things that 20 year olds know, you'd be average. So always keep learning

question is irrelevant since it depends on how good you are. the only thing answered by this question is what IQ people get interested in chess

Both shakira and Mily Cyrus have high IQ's Shakira is around 140, Sylvester Stallone is 160 the one reason he didn't split the atom was because no one could understand him when he talked. Makes me wonder if it really matters that much, emotional quotient may possibly help chess skill, you would be less prone to tilt because of acute self awareness and in general people with high EQ are more successful and less introverted then their counter-parts

Btw Magnus Carlsons IQ is 190
Nope. He’s never taken a test. Estimates based on his chess skill are rooted in questionable assumptions—essentially estimates of other players’ IQs based on the same assumptions. If you are smart, chances are you don’t play much chess.
Average chess player IQ is 95.
so below average people play chess

I'm 120 IQ I think that is high average but I am a meh chess player

An internet search for documentation of these claims turns up no credible sources. Rather you have multiple sources claiming there are multiple sources. They are self-referential. More than likely the lists they produce contain mostly people who never took an IQ test.
There is a long history of estimating the IQ of people who excel in certain spheres: chess, drama, languages, politics. Obviously they have some talents. These talents lead to estimates, often grossly absurd estimates.
Garry Kasparov as the strongest chess player who ever lived, reputedly, leading people to assert that he has an IQ of 160 or 180. Then, he took an actual test, sponsored by Der Spiegal. 135. Clearly above average.
dumbchessplayer000 you may not be splitting the atom anytime soon but if your elo is higher then your IQ your doing great and Mcdonalds is always looking for talent, its always good to have a back up plan like candidate moves
