with a 950 rating so what dose that mean?

Avatar of Thelegendary_ROOK

well, we really can't know, we need more data from others players to figure out the average IQ

#9 that may also be because people in Africa have worse education and don’t have access to chess. If someone with the same low iq was in a first world country they would be more likely to play chess. I think in some places if u have access to education, improving ur iq, u have access to chess, however if u didn’t have access to good education ur less likely to encounter chess. A bit confusing, but u know what I mean?

#268 Albert Einsteins iq was estimated 160. Maybe u took an unreliable test?

It's good that you have 950 rating with 75 iq. I am stuck in 700 even with 124 iq

I answered 23/25 and left blank 2 of them. Results show that all of my answers were correct. And scoretable points out that myIQ>=139

*according to Raven's Progressive Matrices method.

Well, since I'm "currently" rated as an average chess player. that means either all regular players have 140 IQ or I have +40% IQ than a regular person (100 IQ) as an average chess player.

*citation needed

When the question is posed to the masses in some form: "does IQ matter?" - you can always be sure that in time they will all collectively conclude it does not matter.
You'll also get to see things like teachers pretending to be as expert on this topic as research scientists in the field, or psychometricians. You will also see certain self-appointed, pseudo compassionate "defenders" of the masses get militant and morally exasperated. These types will obfuscate the facts and stack the case against IQ, introducing any uncertainty they can into every aspect they can, weaving a web of denial and confusion...
But the facts remain and they're inescapable - IQ is one of the single most validated statistics psychometricians have ever produced. It even correlates with physiological markers of nervous system strength and robustness, like cranial capacity and nerve conduction velocity. It's impacted strongly by prenatal nutrition... It's largely inherited... It predicts performance reliably across many, many domains, including chess.
The last time I mentioned some of these physiological correlates one of the self-appointed "experts" here disputed them. I linked him to two journal articles proving my case and he quickly disappeared...
These facts bother many people, that's the nature of the bell curve and of this topic, but the facts will never not be true.... rather than living in denial it's better to just accept who you are.

All this coming from a man with a two digit IQ!

Not really. It's just bright or very bright. People with 150 still often can't think outside the box.

I would think that the average IQ among healthy people is going to be roughly 106 or 107. Chess is a mental game and will tend to attract a set of players who are brighter than average. Maybe the average among chess players is 110.

If anyone doesn't understand why the average IQ for healthy people isn't going to be 100, it's because the problems of many with 85 or less originate in some kind of physical impairment.
