What's the difference between standard chess and chess 960?

Hi. I joined chess.com a few days ago, and i just don't get the difference between chess 960 and standard chess.

In chess 960, the pieces at the back including the king, the queen, the rook, the bishop, the knight (but not the pawns) are shuffled between themselves. But the pawns are on the place where they are supposed to be. All the best for the future games you play on a chess 960 board. happy.pnghappy.png
