Well when i first started chess.com, the meager skills I had learned long, long ago in my school chess club had aged like milk left out in an enclosed tin can in the middle of the Sahara desert. Of course, all of that time ago, I thought myself to be very good at chess, so in my arrogance I picked the intermediate option, and all of my ratings started at 1500. So in rapid, I barely played any, after a couple of games I was 1149 and I didn't want to play much more, but when I did actually start playing more I hit a hard 815, quickly worked up to 850, later got to 898, then made the climb to 930, 1017, 1047, 1049. Otherwise, in bullet I've tilted from 1070 to 994, and blitz tilted from provisional 1500 to 500, then 700 for a while, and now i'm comfortable at 1000

i got to 2400 yesterday yesterday, and now im at 2289 struggling to get even 2300
I've tilted 300 points today alone. I went from 729 or so to 428. I'm starting to think something strange is going on. I have an 1100 Rapid rating. How on earth can I have a 428 bullet rating? I swear that the bullet players play better than the rapid players even though they have 10 minutes instead of 1 minute. This is beyond reason.

They just have fast internet and a good mouse. My rapid is 1400 and my bullet is 900.
I once touched 1700 in blitz I think.
I'm 1700 rapid, but I think that's because chess.com changed 10 min. games from blitz to rapid.
No, it's not fast internet. I have good Internet. What I have found out is the competition level at the 400 to 600 level is extremely hard. Even 600 to 800 is hard in bullet. What I think is happening is I have been caught I describe as the sinkhole. If you go down to a certain level the bottom will drop out.
I feel sorry for people who are trying to start out. The toughest barrier before 1200, I think is the 400 to 600 barrier as insane as that may sound.
