What's your chess speciality?

I consider myself a bit of a specialist in the opening, (see my game archive for evidence) and although I don't memorize many [opnings] I have a complete and thorough knowledge of opening principles. This forum is for you to give and discuss your specialities. Don't be shy!

Yes, as a matter of fact I've been drinking Gin and almond milk latelyWink

batgirl

I think I'd pay to watch someone milk an almond. That would require a lot of Gin.

Laughing

BringltOn

King sac.

First game I look at you play 1 d4 2 Bf4 3 Nc3. Thanks, for making me laugh.

I guess I am not good at openings. I should have learned from you about openings. Some of your openings are hard for me to understand.

netzach

The quinine in tonic aids health and sometimes inspires opening-play.

Relative to the rest of my skillset probably transitioning into favorable major piece endgames, especially with a few semi-open and open files but enough pawns on the board.  Minor piece endgames, especially with knights I tank.  Also certain middlegame positions, but studying games that started with openings I'm not too familiar with should help since a Sicilian can transition into middlegame with a different feel from a Sicilian, for example.

Open games and open minds?  One hopes.  But don't count on it.

Yeah you are not an opening specialist... an opening specialist WOULD remember many openings and their variations... You might want to check your knowledge on opening principles as well

If you're talking about me I first of all don't see anything wrong with it. Just because It's not king pawn doesn't nesicarily make it bad.(Although in retrospect Bf4 then Nc3 would be better)

Scottrf

It was yesterday, how much better are you?

Nc3 is probably already an inaccuracy after d4 if you haven't played c4.

If you can't see anything wrong with it you're probably not an opening expert.
