When is a chess player good??

A chess player isn't good only when he wins... A chess player is good when he does plan , he sees the oponents' moves and he counts every move of his opponent. A chess player isn't good only when he has an elo but when he tries hard to win it.. And he might not manage to have it but at least he will know what was wrong and try again. A chess player to be good he needs experience that is the reason that most of the children start chess at a very young age...

So, in conclusion beeing a chess player is not a title that every person gets when he start chess. But it is a title that whoever tries hard and read gets. Chess player is someone who loves what he does and tries for it.

A chess player is good when they:
- spend their money for charity 
- don't pollute the Planet 
- aren't rude to other people and chess players.

Good = better than me
Bad = worse than me

Aw dang, I'm "Bad" according to your perspective then. I'm going to have to become "Good" someday

btw, to the thread creator, I'd say "good" depends on your chess goals for yourself. What is "good" to you? Is it above average (50 percentile)? Is it an OTB club player? Is it 1500+ chess.com rating? 1800+? 2000+? 

It is depends on your perspective. I'd say that in some sense, you are already a "good" chess player @MeSomeone

Hello and good morning to everyone!  @YouAreAwesome  I said what I thing makes a chess player good. Actually don't you agree with the fact that to win you should count to each oponents moves?? But anyway it is your opinion and I won't disagree because you might be right.. Also @KeSetoKaiba, no I don't think that I do all those things yet... But I hope I will some day...
