This guy started playing in 2017 at age 6, became CM in 2021 age 10, FM and IM in 2022, age 11. So if you start at age 13 you can still reach IM by age 18.
When is it too late to start chess and become a titled master before 18?

Understand that becoming a master takes years of dedication. It's a marathon, not a sprint, so patience and persistence are key.
