When to Resign

thanks to those who have taken my side and cry me a river to those on larla's i make my moves on time and then some
sorry for her exspenses but not my problem
i've played over 400 people on here and she is the only one to complain and slander my name on this site.
so i slander back larla is a poor sport and a whiner
I have been in simmilar cases and asked myself the question "When to resign?".I remember from playing chess from a young age that the first things I learned was never to give up no matter your opponet has eight quens or none.

scizatchel3 is ridiculous on this topic. I just watched the game, and I'm about to post it.
He should've resigned weeeeeeeell before mate. He's an idiot, in my humble opinion, and anyone who supports him in this forum is misguided.
/about to post the game. You can choose the turn he ought to have resigned on. When you see he holds out till mate, you'll stop defending him.

Move 27 looks resignable for me. Shitzatchel loses so much material it's ridiculous... why didn't he resign after move 29?
Who can tell.

I think it's silly for Black to play on after 29.Qxh8. Then again, I wouldn't be upset about him playing on because it's a mate-in-five: 30.e7 Kxd7 31.e8=Q+ Kc7 32.Qxd8+ Kc6 33.Qhe8+ Kb7 34.Qed7#. [Edit: 31.exd8=Q+ mates one turn faster.]

If I am faced with overwhelming odds, ie my oppponent has more than 1 queen, I would myself resign simply because i was brought up to respect my opponent's ability to at least force the mate. After all, if my opponent has the ability to get that far, then at least he/she should be credited with the ability to finish the game. This I did, with Maximum Prejudice, in this case.
Furthermore, Case Closed. Thanks to all who supported me.

The point is moot now - because I now live in South Korea!!

I agree he should have resigned, just out of basic sportsmanship. He deserves this negative publicity.
However, A) Larla could have checkmated him much more quickly, and that would obviously have shortened the game, and B) if I'm on the ropes and I notice that my opponent doesn't go for my throat but is content to chop off one of my toes at a time, I might hang in there to see if he makes a blunder... or several, and C) when I'm crushing an opponent, it kind of cheers me up a little to have that game in my inbox. It's not like it takes any significant time or effort to keep playing, right?
Notwithstanding all that, this does seem like a pretty outrageous case of poor sportsmanship on the part of black
