When will I be able to become average? - Chess Forums

We all know that the average chess player is 1200 elo. I spent thousands of games, knowing 2 openings (queen gambit - sicilian). I don't hang up pieces nor even pawns. Nevertheless, I'm still 1000 rated. Can we consider 1000 players rated as average, it's so hard to go up to 1200.

Well average on this website is like 650, I have no doubt that you will be able to reach 1200

Spend time analyzing your games, especially your losses. Look for patterns in your mistakes. Are you missing tactical opportunities? Are your opening choices leading to unfavorable positions?
