INdeed. A very unrealistic idea.
It would be impossible to prevent from someone sneaking in computer moves on critical positions.
Problem with chess online specially for money is that it is terribly easy to cheat. Simply get the latest version of chessmaster or that microsoft chess game and install it on your pc. than start a game for money with a real player and a game with the ai on your pc. what ever move the real player will make against you, you will make against the A.I. and what ever move the A.I. will make against you, you will make against the real player. This is why chess online for money will never be real. (other than some scaming sites...)

What? You mean you thought of it too? Ok keep it a secret though... I need to find those sites where a guy with an engine can win the big money before word gets out that there are programs that play chess well.
My friend got one on his phone, but I was smart and invested $60 in Rybka. If I can't win at least that much then I won't even break even. (By the way I tested it and Rybka is better than the phone application so I should do really well).

Yea I'd probably end up cheated or cheating if it had to do with money. Its to tempting. An I don't feel that had if I've been cheated online in friendly games. I really was hoping for maybe a dollar or some cool little fake trophy. Yea but even a $3. Dollar grand prize would be tempting for some turd like myself to take with a chess engine;/
