USA because they import the top quality talent from around the world with lucrative financial offers. Of course if you are getting to cherry pick the best of the best then you will have the strongest players!

Oh dear, here's another Brit trashing my country.  Yes, there's a lot to trash, in addition to all the good we do.  No, I didn't vote for the current administration, and I am not responsible for it.  Yes, we are the single greatest country in the history of the world, by a significant margin.  Deal with it.

I'm sure this is a thing in other places but I'm seeing a lot of really young kids playing chess here in Australia :)

I think USA, Russia and China just have a lot of people thus a lot of opportunity. I think Armenia and Iceland are doing really well with their small population.

USA, Russia, China, India, Armenia, that’s pretty much the large majority of the countries with either current top players and dominance, or large numbers of young prodigies.

A lot of young kids are playing in Australia, but most of them are pretty trash, in NSW there are hardly any juniors even Class A or above, in Queensland and Victoria it’s not a huge amount better and I don’t know about the rest of Australia. I should know about these young players, I’m one of them, their all my competition :)

Russia has 11 players over 2700, more than any other country. 2nd place is China with 6.

Oh boo hoo. Look at all the Americans get upset. There was a list of rubbish which you will find that are not American inventions IE the Internet is a British, no sorry English invention. Look it up. As to GPS this all comes from the two British scientists from Bletchley Park who decoded the enigma machine. Watch the film The Imitation Game. (Alan Turing). It is the story of one of them. Anyway, the other went to the US and ended up building basically the CIA, or moreover their capabilities of spying and field command which is used today. From this GPS was created. So it is NOT an American creation, read a history book sometime. Nukes? I think you'll find that the Germans invented it tried to build it but just didn't have the resources to make it. It is NOT an American invention at all. Einstein was not American and he unlocked the famous equation. The British actually unlocks the secrets of the atomic bomb and the Germans tried using heavy water to create one. We, the British, asked our friends in Norway to destroy their heavy water on a train, which only Norway was able to make at that time, stolen by the Germans in WWII unfortunately killing many innocent people with it. That was how scared the west was of a German bomb. The US just had a lot of money to make one which I have already stated. And again if you know anything about history Goring was fundamental in the Manhattan project and he was German. Flight? Go and ask the NZ people if the Wright brothers were the first to fly, um no. It is just that the Wright brothers had something called media on its side. It's all there in the history books if you just found out about other countries. So in a way you are proving my point precisely. Beyond this, any country can cite a bunch of things they have invented. I concede that in every million Americans there must be a few who are a little more intelligent than the rest. That is obvious.

Another fool writes that the US is the single greatest country in the history of the world, by a significant margin... I beg to differ. Have you seen what China is capable of doing? It is by a very, very big margin the most powerful country I the world. Again you are so insular that you know nothing of the rest of the world. You guys just keep proving my point. Thankyou. Beyond this, it is somewhat insular again to write such a statement as the British could have said that stupid statement 70 years ago about Britain, but it would be wrong. Our empire could never have owned 2/3 of the worlds surface had it not been for what the Chinese, Roman, Greek, Russian empires had created before us. A bit like the statement- standing on the shoulders of giants. It is a metaphor for achieving something brilliant thanks to the work that came before. And so it is with empires. The US empire 1940s to 2010s was only able to do what they did thanks to the history of the world. The new emerging empire of China has I ten years surpassed anything which the US has achieved. Go and and a book. But Thankyou for showing how right I was I my original statement.

I'm more upset that our president thought Ireland was part of the UK... among other things that this website doesn't like us to talk about in the forums...
