music lovers for me
Which group is the best group?
COT otb is probably the the best group on this site. I'd explain more but I'm just too boozed... boo ya!
Here comes some bad moves in the two games waiting for me. Awesome.
good times all round
CoT-OTB...
We are a group who will adhere to rules of fair play, and, so called "old fashioned" principles. We do not believe once a game has started, any reference books (open books, databases. outside help etc) should be used, even when the game is dormant, to gain an unfair, and outside advantage over your opponent.
We have been informed this action is allowed under the rules of this site, and the rules of correspondence chess; however, this group is for people who do not feel comfortable playing with, or against these tactics. We are not saying they are wrong for everyone, just for this group.
The old fashion rules of face to face, over the board chess suit us, and we would like people of similar views to join us. We can study all we want, just not use references during a current game, with the hope of gaining any advantage.

On the one hand, CoT seems to be 'creating demand' and 'stimulating the market'. On the other, it seems to be 'limiting supply' by resticting access to new members. I trust that all of the declared 'Non-Users' from the http://www.chess.com/forum/view/general/a-tally-of-database-users--non-users Topic will automatically qualify for membership - should they so desire.
It's clearly not a competition - groups present niche community interaction. I've been trying to learn how to balance my group activity ideally, I realized I can't realistically participate in as many as I'd like to - ~3-4 groups seems maximal.
Asking which group is the best implies that they all offer similar experiences.
Also, it seems groups can change from time to time. One of the groups I had the most fun in was during early summer, and there was a slightly different contingent of people, it was smaller, and some real wackiness ensued. That died down, people move on, etc.
Groups, like the "main" forum group, are great due to the contributions of their members. It's silly to sit back as if anything is there to entertain you... it's all about what you put into it. With the right energy and a few fun members, you could change the "worst" group into the best within a week, in my opinion.
/forgive me, duty insists: poets & writers of chess.com

The One I created Light Force is the best by far. Just read the message underneath it.
That is the best group so please join
I am impressed with The Seniors Club
The Vote Chess team comments show a depth of experience that I enjoy especially
yea Minor Masters is pretty active and is an awesome group! just read the type below :)
THE MINOR MASTERS IS THE BEST GROUP ON CHESS.COM AND THEIR CREATOR, mercytononeZ IS AN AWESOME SEXY BEAST!!!!!
The Dream Team has the most members. Groups such as blue Magic
have NO members - so arguably there would be less dissent there.
In my own honest opinion, The Circle of Trust OTB is the best (for me, anyways).
Everyone there is so kind and friendly - like a family.
It is the only group for me.

the dream team, in my opinion, is stupid and chess.com fans because they have no purpose and are very unactive

I totally agree, dream team is a really snobby group, and being a member of chess.com is like being the teacher's pet,
The "Amateur Chess" group however, is the best group that ever did exist....ever, better than the beatles and Jesus
