Checkers is more exciting.

no chess is

If it were as easy to find a game of either, I might enjoy checkers more.  But since chess is everywhere, and checkers nowhere, chess wins.

When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child and I played checkers: but when I became a man, I put away childish things and now I play chess.

Chess is the better. It is much deeper and much more complicated. Checkers is simple. But some people may prefer checkers over chess.

Checkers has been solved by computers. Theres no point playing that game anymore

There is no practical difference between this sentence, and one that says no human can defeat a chess engine.  By definition, they are different, but in practical terms, both simply mean that the ability of computers to calculate has rendered it impossible for a human to win against a machine.

And in both cases, the method used by the computers is so far beyond a human's calculative ability that it matters not at all in over the board gameplay.
