Which phase of the game you like or enjoy playing the most?

Opening, Middle game or Endgame?

If possible do mention the reason.

Endgame because it is probably my strength and because the simplification makes it easier to calculate long forcing lines like in King and pawn endings. Some of those lines you can calculate really far.

middlegame, because I hate losing in the opening or endgames, so if I lose, I'd rather it be in the middlegame!

So can I assume you are very good in opening and endgames.

The last move and only if i win wink.png

Seriously the move that make me win! grin.png

It's often the phase of the game I focus on in training.

Egkninja

middlegame because thats where a lot of tactics happen

Deranged

Recently I started liking endgames a lot. I used to be terrible at them, but now I think I'm getting pretty good. It mainly just comes down to keeping your own pieces+king active, and keeping your opponent's pieces+king tied down.

You are super duper cool happy.png

sark15

endgame because it has the least pieces and is the most complicated

Endgames are interesting but it requires a lot of patience. That's why I suck in Endgames. I also like Middle game.

middlegames are good because you have like a whole army on the board, patrolling every piece and square.

Nope, I'm pretty good in the opening, but my endgame needs a lot of work. I think it's ironically because I "study" endgames too much, and therefore don't calculate when calculation is required, instead relying on my general endgame pattern recognition. Usually when I get into an endgame, it's because I think I have a CHANCE to win, or I am indeed winning. That's why losing the endgame is painful--not because I'm good at it.  In order of phases of the game I'm best at, it's openings, middlegames, endgames. lol

Now thinking about it, I don't have a preference:

I like more equally the Opening, Middlegame and Endgame.

Now if I were to give some slight preferences I would say the Endgame, however I do just fine in the middlegame or opening so I don't mind any, as long as the position is not too bad and is playable, for white or the black pieces.

The reason I prefer the Endgame slighlty is due to the fact that much principle and real chess is played in the Endgame and a lot less is happening, and the more accurate you have to be, and in a game in which every move counts, it seems like the Endgame is something that speaks to me in that regard.

But it is not too special as most people are good in the Endgame, but there is a difference from being good and being Masterful in it so I think it is very important to be good in all of them as well and improve in all.  As though I prefer the Endgame slighlty I do believe in order to be successful at the game you have to be solid all-around, or at least be overwhelmingly good in something so that something else is made up just in case you may not be as good in something.

Couldn’t say it better

The end game, the end game is the business end of the game. If you lose either of the opening or the middle game chances are you'll lose the game. However, the level that I play at, the end game is all that matters.
