I think that's the Taimanov variation actually. My understanding is that e6 for black denotes it as the "Paulsen" family with Tiamanov and Kan as offshoots. The former designated by a knight on c6 and the latter by a usual later development to d7 - confusingly with transposition possibilities.
The Kan is 1e4 c5 2Nf3 e6 3d4 cd 4Nxd4 a6
