Sure he's the best player right now. Isn't the no. 1 USA player ALWAYS the best player - before, during and after Fischer's hayday.
Who else agrees that Hikaru Nakamura is the best player right now?

I feel like that's a shot against Americans... ha

I agree with you chessman1504. Nakamura has a very good chance to win the candidates, and if he can overcome the psychological edge Carlsen has on him, he might become one of the greatest world champions. What I love about him...is his tactical ability. He does not like draws and tries to get opponents out of preparation :)
Truthfully, I think all the top ten players are more or less even as far as tactics go. Carlsen has his preferences, but part of the reason he keeps beating Nakamura is through superior calculation/tactics, though, he also has won via positional chess/endgames. He's won in so many ways, it's hard to keep track .

I knew that him being ranked #2 in the list was going to come up. But ranking means very less at that level, Aronian was about to fall out of top 10 before sinquefield cup but everyone knew he was top 3 in Classical chess. Kramnik's rating has fallen as low as 2710 but no one ever doubted his ability.
Anand and Kramnik were consistently ranked below Carlsen around 2011-12, but they consistently had a positive score against Magnus in classical chess.
This year Kramnik's ranking shot up to 2 after the LCC even though he didn't even participate in the grandchess tour, which was supposed to have the strongest SGMs. and so on so Its not always about ratings and rankings, they reflect very little.
Why does it take a chess player to recognize the tired old formula of the brand new sockpuppet account with a fake female avatar who posts silly and controversial posts to get attention and then turns that into inordinate amounts of challenges to boost rating?
You're going to get caught using that blitz-bot and get banned eventually, you know. Just like every other time. 850+ games in 30 days...

Naka does have "what it takes" to beat Magnus but, unfortunately for him, he has some kind of mental/psychological block against Magnus, so he never plays his best against him.
You just said that he has "what it takes", then went on to explain how he doesn't. Thanks for the laugh :)
By the way I think Naka is great. He's clearly - objectively, not the best player at the moment, but he's still improving and the way he has changed his approach to the game is impressive.

Really did not want to reply to your comment, but I think I should.
I am seeking attention really? I don't think I posted anything which seeks attention, infact just go through your content most of them are not even related to chess so you are the one who is seeking attention.
And apparently I am a blitz bot, becuase I played over 850 games in 30 days, That is about 30 games each day and almost 95% of them are 1 min bullet time control, so thats about 1 hour of chess which is very easily manageable in holiday seasons. And btw, who the hell are you to care how much time I spend playing online chess.
And if you meant blitz bot in sense that I cheat, then you are free to analyse my games and report my games if you want to.
You don't deserve any more time of my life, so you can keep commenting and accusing me, but you won't get me to read nor reply to your comments, I blocked you but I don't know why I am able to see your comments must be a bug in this site, but anyways I am gonna act like you don't even exist.

@btickler I have also noticed a strong correlation between engine cheaters and fake accounts with teenage girls in their avatars.

Nakamura will end the season at 2786, which is almost the same as Fischer's highest live rating ever (2789). He lost 6 points this month. Still, that's a pretty good year.
Kramnik has had a good year. He will almost certainly end the year +2800. That's really impressive.
The only thing is, Carlsen will end the year with probably 6 tournament victories and a +2840 rating.
Carlsen's "bad" year is still the best performance by far for 2015.

aina0 is NOT a cheater. btickler...please apologize. And girls can be good chess players too. I am a female chess state champion in Texas.
Please, try not to be so quick to come to conclusions.

While this may be true, engine cheaters always get caught on this site. It is a pointless endeavor. I can only speak for myself. I was a Texas State champion at one point and competed in nationals, and yes I am a rare female chess player.
As for Aina0, I have looked at her games, she is NOT a cheater. Cheaters here always get caught...again it is a pointless endeavor.
The correlation you mention could very well be correct, however.

"Who else agrees that Hikaru Nakamura is the best player right now?"
Other idiots
This is extremely rude. Please do not be rude to me or others. This is simply my opinion.
