WHO ELSE WANTS MAGNUS CARLSEN TO LOSE his Championship?

I do.

Don't get me wrong, magnus is my favourite player of all time - no one comes close. But it's getting boring now.

I want magnus to lose his championship so that he becomes motivated to get it back, achieve 2900 and dominate the field. I want to see Hikaru relieved from the butthurt and saltiness magnus has caused him (believe it or not magnus is the superior blitz and bullet player); I want to see Giri crack [removed -- MOD] jokes about magnus losing his championship while at the back of his head he's calculating a line that holds a draw for white despite being up a queen and 2 bishops; I want to see kramnik start getting brave again and downplaying magnus's opening repertoire and style of play; I want to see fabiano caruana think he can [removed -- MOD] around with magnus but it ending up with the latter [removed -- MOD] him around the board; I want to see anand think he's 20 years old again and can mug ppl off.

Magnus Carlsen losing his championship makes the chess world a [removed -- MOD] load more exciting; him retaining it will mean "Ve have the world champion magAnus calasoon here vit us today after winning a game because aronian couldn't stay awake long enough to make his 857th move"

What do you think?

I think he should try his best till he is out of his prime, when he knows he is out of his prime he should still try hard but not expect himself to be on top.

Mod why you gotta do dis??

ed1975

Nope.

macer75

Sorry... we don't always get what we want.

superchessmachine

"[removed -- MOD]"~ That was used a lot...

Giri Will be Champion in 2 years or so...

macer75

Most of Magnus' peers, probably. If someone other than Carlsen becomes world champion then they will have a better chance of becoming WC themselves, since they would no longer have to beat Carlsen in a WC match.

I would like him to lose. An American should win, because we are the greatest country on this planet. It just makes sense. Or, he should become an American citizen.

Being the best at blitz and bullet pretty much keeps that title in his hands for as long as he desires. Caruana was looking like he might be able to defeat Magnus after the candidates and he was really good in the US Championship, but the blitz and rapid game has shown he is just an average player outside of classic chess. All that being said, yes, I want Magnus to lose his title. It's no fun having the same unbeatable person there all the time.

Kasparov was the best player in the entire world for 20 years. No great players were growing up or inspired to beat him during that entire time? He just played old guys. Finally a young Kramnik whipped the title off him like a child having its blankie taken. Eventually, one of the young guns will come for Magnus. It might not be this current crop of top 10 players. Magnus owns all of them on the board, but maybe one of these up and comers.

I don’t want Carlsen to lose. I want Caruana to win.

If Caruana wins, Carlsen loses.

I would like to see Caruana win. I'm not a Carlsen fan either.

Does it matter any more?

The tie break thing for one makes it a joke.

Karjakin showed that Magnus is very beatable.

But, I do not hate Carlsen, good luck to him if he goes home with the bacon.

Kasparov only beat older players because the younger one were not able to beat Karpov. Well, except Short, Anand, Shirov, Topalov who got badly beaten by Kasparov but I guess historical accuracy is not your thing.
