who is better magnus or gukesh

I believe that they are all very unique in their own ways. But in the game of chess, I think versatility is more admirable. In that aspect, I would say that Magnus is the most versatile of all of MASTERS. Respectfully, I say this because if you were to ask the MASTERS. I believe that everyone would say that he is the man to beat. Let's be honest, I believe he has set a new standard with versatility in his game. I bow down to all chess players. It is probably the only competition that everyone wants to win, but you have to lose first. So, from the person who just began to play a couple of minutes ago to the person who has played all of their lives. Welcome the community of chess.

Thank you for posting a comment but gukesh has also beaten magnus and magnus has beaten gukesh so I can say both are equal

It's a bit hard to say for current, but most surely Magnus is better, according to list of previous tournaments and results.

If we look further in past, it became clear, that at this moment, Magnus have much more achievements. He was 18x world champion (if we include all titles), was (and still) number 1 in classic for over, than a decade. Holds the world record for highest Elo in Classic, Blitz and Rapid (third one I'm not sure, you can correct me, but first 2 is 100% true), have highest performances ever recorded, had a series of 100+ classical games without a single lose. Have highest average accuracy among all (by chesscom analysis of his classical games). Was WC in all formats Classic, Blitz, and Rapid. Have better results in chess 960

Well, Carlsen has beaten Naka 14 times in classical chess.
But Naka has also beaten Carlsen, once.
So, the two players are equals.
Did I catch your deep philosophical meditation correctly?

Totally agree:
Aditi is good
Gukesh is better
Magnus is best

Some people are more equal than others.

sidered the superior player, though D. Gukesh is the current World Champion. Carlsen is #1 in all time controls, a feat Gukesh has never achieved, and even legends like Garry Kasparov believe Carlsen is the better player, noting Gukesh is in a "different situation" because Carlsen is still active. While Gukesh has rapidly achieved significant milestones like winning the World Championship, Carlsen's long-standing dominance across all formats of chess sets him apart. Carlsen's Unmatched Dominance #1 Across All Formats: Magnus Carlsen is currently the #1 ranked player in every chess time control, including classical, rapid, and blitz, a level of consistent dominance Gukesh has never reached. Legendary Status: Carlsen is widely considered by chess experts, including Garry Kasparov, to be the best or second-best player to ever play the game. Experience: Carlsen has an extensive history of success, holding the world championship title and achieving a higher peak rating than any other player in history. Gukesh's Rise and Future Potential Current World Champion: D. Gukesh won the World Chess Championship in 2025, a monumental achievement and the youngest ever to hold the title. Incredible Talent: Gukesh has shown "hell of a talent," but he is still in a developing phase and has a "long way to go" to match Carlsen's status. Different Circumstances: Kasparov pointed out that Gukesh winning the world title is in a "different situation" than his own, largely because Magnus Carlsen is still a major force in the chess world.
