Who is the best player you've ever played?

Damn that guy's crazy good

Tal. Over-the-board, in a simul. A draw.
He was just lucky.
Must've been one hell of an experience jeezz, legendary

Karpov and his (then) trainer Djindjashvili were standing right behind me, watching the game over my shoulder. World chess champions front and rear... no pressure!

GM Alexander Lenderman has visited our chess club in Columbus, Ohio one or two times. I was paired against him in a small rapid Swiss. Lost badly and quickly.
Canadian, Jonathan Berry, a FIDE Master rated 2325.
He came to my town, Powelll River B.C., and did a 13 player simultaneous game.
Beat 12 of us, including me , and had a draw with our club best Litto Castillo.
Add in- Litto if you are out there, Andy and Wolf would like their clocks back.!

A long time ago, I drew with Nigel Short in a simul. I threw everything in and managed to get a perpetual. Nigel, seeing the perpetual offered a draw but I played a move; he replied and looked at the board again before moving on. Next time round I gave a check and offered a draw which he accepted.
I explained to my friends that "many players can claim draws against a Grandmaster but far fewer can claim to have DECLINED a draw from a Grandmaster".
I have also played in simuls against Bill Hartston, Tony Miles and, since I returned to playing, Micky Adams and David Howell which have stories of their own (but no points).
Who is the best player you've ever played? Online or OTB? Just sharing anything is appreciated, just a lil appreciate yourself kinda post
Mine was online definitely against Nigel Short @honestgirl (0-1) & David Anton @tptagain (0.5-4.5)
