Your opponent refuses to resign an obviously lost game, i mean theres always a chance to stalemate but usually if someone is racking up the queens they know how to avoid the stalemate process....my theory is if i must play on and he doesnt resign, may as well waste my own time too

I'll promote to everything but a queen and I'll promote every pawn i have left. On lichess I'll spam the +15 seconds while promoting all my pawns as well 🤣

I don't do it much at all, honestly, and stalemate paranoia is only a small part of that. I just feel like the opponent wants you to waste your time, so being quick and economical when ending the game is the best way to non-verbally tell them to sod off. It also has the added bonus of making sure you can still easily recall how to execute basic checkmates when there are no pawns to promote.

I usually spam knights, or if there is only one pawn left I promote it to a rook and force the opponent to sit through the king and rook checkmate.
