Will the next game be starting shortly?

No problems with video here, and yes, next should start soon ("after the break!")

In the meanwhile, I'll just leave game 3 here

Game 4 has just started (20:30 CEST)

does the site you're watching have a commentaror? please post a link! i'm looking in the gva site, that spanish one, but it doesn't have commentary, is that a  site problem or what?

Avatar of Harrr

oscartheman, yes, there is a speaker that comments on the gva site. Press play on the right for commentary and/or the video (now the video is a little delayed, you have better to mute it). Using firefox 3.5.3 with WMP11 manually installed works fine (it doesn't work properly with IE8, here, instead). It may happens that if you connect to the site right now there could be technical difficulties, anyway.

Game 4: Kasparov (White) Wins (Karpov overstepped time, white was in advantage)

Avatar of WildFireMayhem

Arghhh Game 4 was frustrating to watch.  Karpov continually wasted much of his clock during the "simpler" moves.  He's gotta be more decisive and manage his time better or he stands no chance.  His position was worse but I think he had drawing chances in this one.  Oh well.

Harrr thanks a lot for the help!! For others who may havbe the same issue, all it took was to press play up there and it worked. I think it was that or I closed and opened but it worked somehow.

I'm for karpov but he's too insecure in playing. It wasn't that hard, he could have worked it out. Even if he made a little mistakes it would be fine, at least a draw, or maybe a worse endgame, but I think that he could have pulled a draw there just fine... Why did he waste SO MUCH time, damn this is painful. I hope he gets better and preferes to play a little worse move and save time then to blow off time thinking about the perfect move!

Yea someone playing as long as he has you'd think would understand time management a bit better by now.

It's almost as if he saw losing on time preferable to fighting on in a slightly worse position.

Yes, it was so frustrating watching him take eight minutes to decide on a simple move.
However, I have found myself behind on time before, and I just couldn't seem to
make myself play faster even though I knew I should.  I will officially name this
"Chess Indecision Syndrome".
