So might have a good chance. Wei Yi is an up and coming Chinese player who can do some spectacular attacks. Basically, a challenger can't win the championship just by avoiding mistakes and playing good defense (Karjakin 2016); you need someone who will fight aggressively to beat the champ.

So, I will start. I hope to see Levon Aronian challenge Magnus Carlsen for the title! I remember that scene in "Prince of Chess" where Aronian beats a young fiery Magnus in an intense endgame and am instilled with the thought that they have an intense rivalry. Aronian - Carlsen would have been a treat but it seems Aronian is not anymore as ambitious as he was years ago; its play lacks some teeth.

I would like to see either So or Caruana as the challenger. Kramnik also deserves another shot at the championship. He's in his late 40s and is still a 2800 player.
Me. I would throw hissy-fits just like the other greats, lose 7 games, and collect $400,000. My second choice is one of the good computers. Seeing this kid lose easily.
