I have already copyrighted the word "e4", so every time you receive a dollar, you must pay me two dollars. :P

That doesn't make any sense, how could he make a profit?
He does not bet on the gender. He takes $10 in any case, and gives them back if it's a girl. So on the average he makes $5 per person.
