It is because you are being matched up against chess. Com's adaptive bots. I see that a lot of people in these forums like to say that they dont use bots when finding you an oppenent but to me it is so blaringly obvious its ridiculous. This is the reason why ratings are so screwed up on this site. This has become standard practice in the video game industry for online multiplayer games. Its really not surprising they would do it here.
Why am I finding it harder to beat weaker players ?

What makes you think that? And if so, how can other chess websites find real opponents without bots?

Do you really think chess.com has something to gain from putting bots in the pool? Do you think that there just aren’t humans around your rating level, or what?

Are you losing blitz by timeouts? If you get behind a few seconds, a weaker player can beat you by just going on defense and avoiding checkmate without any attempt to win by checkmate.

Good morning,
You seem to be past the prime of your life... perhaps it is time to look for less mentally taxing activities to do than chess

I don't understand what that has to do with anything I asked .. and I'm in high school.
Thank you to everyone who provided a useful comment by the way, I'm receiving a lot of great advice.

Probably your looking down / underestimating your opponent . We pay more attention when we play higher rated players and most of them underestimate us that's the reason they lose to us and vice Versa. Take every game seriously and solve puzzles daily (I recommend solving puzzles at lichess because the membership here is expensive)
I find it very strange that I can go to the tournament section here and I see NO rapid events. Yet, I can get rapid opponents with random pairings very "rapidly".
You start a new account. You win a few games very easily. Then, you will lose one or two. These games you lose after the initial wins are extremely instructive. They show you flaws in your thinking and the engine highlights better moves. But then, you keep losing, keep losing, keep losing. It doesn't matter if you go down 300-400 points, nothing you can do to win.
You then get so frustrated you shut down the computer. Come back the next day, and you get win after win after win after win after etc.... That is what I am going through right now. This ALWAYS happens. Something is not natural in the way they pair players.
The only thing I can conclude is that they have bots set to low levels and then throw in some stronger when they suspect cheating. There is no way I was paired with people who were that strong and then paired with people that weak.
Are we really to believe we can't get rapid tournaments, strong players are just waiting to get paired with us, then the next day weak players are waiting in line to play us? Something is rigged on this site. Again, this ALWAYS happens when you open a new account.
i have had this from time to time now OTB and online and ig its just cause the moves are unusual, not really being common or expected in comparison to your rating range. having to deal with bad moves from your opponent while being a bit of a shock in the face definitely does stun you in the end as you are like "what just happened, how did i lose this game" its that subtle honestly
