How and why does my time get significantly deminished during a game when I'm actually waiting for my opponent to make thier move? For example, I'm playing black and awaiting for my opponent ( white )to make it's first move. Two minutes has passed before white makes its first move and we're playing a five minute game. My turn comes and immediately after making my move and my clock reads three minutes and ten seconds remain, stating that I took one minute and fifty seconds to make my move when in actuality I took but two seconds if at all. And not only that but when i look at my opponents clock. His clock reads four minutes and fifty seconds remain on his clock. Why and how is that even possible?
