anyway i personally would rather teach japanese women a lesson or two
why are grandmaster picky who they teach

Regardless of whether the GM made his decision for the right reasons, judging from your behavior in this thread he made the right choice. The only thing left to debate is whether it was luck or skill

You cook waffles or do you just eat them like a hungry mouse? :D

Maybe someday there will be another grandmaster and you can try again.
well there are 1500 GMs in a world with 7 billion people, what are the chances that there will be another grandmaster who sends him an e mail??

There seems to be an abundance of people on these forums who are willing to accuse other people of bad deeds sans sufficient evidence. This is very unfortunate.

No, it should not.
What are you talking about? It is discrimination, pure and simple.

No, it should not.

Of course it's not discrimination. A grandmaster is an independent contractor and can choose the students he or she wants to teach. No one can force the grandmaster to accept a student. Give me a break.

Discrimination as in being able to tell the difference between, then yes!
Discrimination as in unethical treatment due to bias, then no.

it is discrimination, but either way, still unethical.

Well he's a grandmaster what do u expect whatever he charges im gonna go for it. Who wouldnt want to get taught by a grandmaster. Like in chess there is a reason why for 2 hours he wants to charge the 40 extra dollars.

I can see that you're very good in math and finance.

returnofxpchesser... having known you for a few minutes, I am not surprised the GM wouldn't touch you with a 10ft pole. You are petty, whiny, and pushy. The GM doesn't like your smell, neither do we, so get over it and get a life.

You mentioned the St. Louis chess club. You DO know they have a kids lecture series on Sundays right? By your logic they must all be pedophiles on Sunday.
There a myriad of reasons why a GM might want to teach children. Haven't developed bad habits, have the chance at becoming GM's themselves, etc. That you would accuse a teacher of being a pedophile based on such specious logic, shows a twisted and pathetic world view....
there is a difference between pessimisitc geek and picking the horse that wins anyway
