The white unrated games, did you create or accept those challenges?
Also, if a game times out before four moves, it doesn’t affect the daily ratings.

I went to the games screen in the app, pressed the New Game button at the bottom of the screen, at the top it said 1 day, I clicked Play, and waited for an alert to tell me a game had started. The same way I started the previous 20 or so games all of which were rated.
In the New Game screen, if I click Create challenge, rated is checked. So I have no idea why some of my games are coming up unrated but I won one of them against a higher rated opponent and was kind of upset to find that my rating didn't improve.

You can send a bug report from the app.
I prefer to create daily challenges with my web browser, phone or computer. The web interface gives other options like selecting opponents who don’t timeout. This could be a workaround in case there is a bug.

So here's my last 8 games:
black - rated - ongoing
black - rated - ongoing
White - unrated - won
White - unrated - won
White - untated - won*
White - rated - opponent quit before 4 moves
black - rated - lost
White - rated - opponent quit before 4 moves
So what might be noteworthy is the game with the *. This was against my son who is a complete beginner. I PURPOSELY played that game as unrated because I knew it was unfair. So is that the problem? Once I played an unrated game, it has somehow 'stuck' and made some of my follow up games unrated?

I think the unrated setting would be remembered. I always check the settings before creating a challenge.

I don't think it becomes 'stuck'. If you changed it to unrated, it stays there until you change it back.
OK, but I only changed it for the * game. So somehow it stayed on unrated for 2 more games and then magically switched back to rated. I'm using web browser as suggested by manekapa since and have gotten only rated games.
In the last few days, I'm suddenly finding that about half of my games are unrated. These are daily games. The worst part is, my games where I play white are unrated and where I play black are rated. When I go to custom game, it has rated selected so how can I make sure my games are rated?
