Why are speedruns even allowed?

Surprised it took that long... the mute would have saved himself from doubling down on his crazy theories again and again.

The mute will actually strengthen his paranoid conspiratory beliefs, it's the chess.com trying to suppress the truth, tragic guy really😂

What if it was just a good player starting an account for the first time? Would that really be any different?
Your rating is going to go where it should be and then fluctuate anyway.
it absolutely does matter because so many players do it. I mean on one site i'm a steady 950 rating and usually feel equally matches. on the other I wildly fluctuate between 200-450 and play lots of month old accounts that will dominate me. Its only now starting to dawn on me the stark differences. I hear alot of theories as to why there is a difference except for the main elephant in the room. You can say its more players, but its also simply more alts. Banning people doesn't stop anything either, you need a community that actually discourages it and looks down on it, not the opposite. Maybe thats part of the reason there is so many new accounts.
Congrats on your two month anniversary on this site, yesterday.

Why? Aren't they basically smurfing and making multiple accounts? Plus, they have the same effect which smurfing does. It messes up the rating pools.
I got muted and my internet knocked offline for an hour saying this very same thing. The problem that this streamers are allowed to do this is the fact they are making it fashionable and thousands are probably doing the same thing because of them. Its especially noticable for below 800 low rated players like myself. The ratings seem to be pointless.
You think GM streamers are playing below 800 on speedruns?

It doesn't matter honestly. Your rating wille eventually end up where it should be
rating is not really the issue. I literally have a 500 point difference between this site and the other. And a FIDE rating would probably be even more of a difference lol. The issue is just playing an opponent at my own level. One should be able to tell by how close the majority of matches are regardless of their rating. Also this is more of an issue for beginners with lower skill levels who have an extra hurdle because of it. Not the high rated players who would not even notice. I mean the topic of this thread is speed runs
The minimum FIDE rating is 1001, so yes, if you had one it would be much higher than here.

They have literally started at 400 in the past. yes. And so you think its ok for them play at 800? I mean what kind of nonsense are you even condoning... shame on you.
And you think that’s why you can’t find appropriate opponents here?
BTW, nothing in my comment indicated judgement for or against any practice. I’ll thank you to not assume I’m condoning something based on a question about what you think.

@CooloutAC judging from your games you ARE being fairly matched. You just aren't happy with being rated around 400. Just accept reality and stop comparing ratings from different websites etc. Last 30 days you have won and lost around the same games and the skill/play in those games have been similar.
I completely disagree. Go look at my matches on the other site. Its drastically different and I feel much more fulfilled with mostly close games. I think you are all in denial want it to be me complaining about my rating. But thats not the reality. When I say the rating is innacurate, it is because the actual skill level of my opponents is all over the dam map at my rating. Which should not be the case.
I wish i could see the statistics for the site of how many new accounts are made, and how many stay active. I think it would be very revealing.
What’s your user name over there? I’ll be happy to look at your games.

First of all what does FIDE have to do with anything? Your comment absolutely supports it you even said "Yes". Second of all what kind of sportsmen supports smurfing in the community? "you get your rating points back" as if that makes up for the fact the competitiveness of the match was undermined on an unsuspecting player who is not subscribing for such. As if that doesn't lose the site and sport credibility and encourage others to do the same unofficially. Apalling. Like i've said before in over 25 years of online gaming I've never seen such a thing.
And I can't believe the players doing this don't realize that hurts their game. Even coaching too far below their level hurts them. Its why they are considered "streamers" as a derogatory label and no longer professional chess players by most fans. How can they be?
You mentioned FIDE. I agree with you that if you had a FIDE rating, it would be 700 or so higher than your rating here.
I don’t see how that point helps your argument, though.

I'm unhappy about the fact the matches are less competitive on chess.com. And this is the site with more players, and the site i paid money to. Coincidentally the site that allows speedrunners and these streamers to encourage alt accounts.
I watched one of your games the other day while you were playing it. It was never competitive. Even after you missed a mate in one and threw away both your queen and rook, your opponent never had a chance to win. No chance at all until you resigned.
I even annotated the game. Would you like to see the annotations?

I can't believe people always feel the need to ask this. Did you even bother searching my name? Do I look like an alt to you? lol And if you have been following this thread you will see someone actually downloaded my data on both sites and came to the …
Not yet. I will. I’m on my iPad and the Lichess app is crap.
Right now I’m catching up on this thread.

Here we go again😂 I wonder how long this time, you can take your picks here😂😂

In fact the person who convinced Daniel to do speedruns, literally just told me does not consider chess a sport. So imo, its no wonder he would even suggest such a thing to him in the first place. IMO, he corrupted him, corrupted all his followers, and made him a worse player for it.
First- proof? How do you know it was one person?
Second- the topic of whether or not chess is a sport is still very much debatable for either side. So it cannot be used as justification for your point.
You can take my word for it or not. I'm not even going to say the guys name. The fact you think Chess is debatable as a sport, says it all. Chess.com take note of this. Any employee on your payroll who does not think chess is a sport, should be let go.
Most people don’t agree that chess is a sport. They see sports as athletic contests where physical skill is primary.
I’ve been arguing the point with them on this site in multiple threads since 2007.

Is calling his comment fraudulent considered a personal attack? Please let me know. I'm pretty sure you are thinking the same thing though. I mean first of all my fire tablet is complete crap even compared to his very old ipad. Chess.com is known to have a real laggy interface while lichess is snappy. If Magnus is watching he for sure is thinking the same thing about his comment. hahah.
But lets face it, this whole thread is about fraudulent activity sanctioned by the site themselves which as I've said, lessens the credibility of the site and those who condone it.
Yes, it was a personal attack. No, you don't know what I'm thinking and no, you don't know what Magnus Carlsen is thinking.

There is an app? I just use the web browser. To be honest I use an amazon fire tablet and chess.com is way slower and laggy compared to lichess. Your comment sounds fraudulent. haha.
On my iPad, I play using the app. I review my games and participate in forums via the browser. Playing via the browser on a mobile device can be buggy.
On lichess, I use the app for play. I don’t analyze games there on mobile devices. I wait until I’m at my computer. When I played on my iPad in some club tournaments on Lichess, I used the browser. Didn’t have any problems, but these were slow games.

Wait. You know the age of my iPad?

Studying a Carlsen/Caruana game won’t help you as much as Naroditsky vs Class C player. The class C player will make the mistakes your opponents will make and you will see how to exploit them. Learning value high.
I don’t think so.
The mistakes C Class players make are very different from those made by J Class players.
