You're barking up the wrong tree, buddy. Your main issue is that you suck at chess, no offense, so do I. Since I started playing chess in April, I played cca 2500 blitz games here, and let me assure you, most of them, close to 100% were genuine players. The occasional smurfer or cheater are completely irrelevant, especially if you're playing blitz. At this level of chess you're at, you basically have no idea of what you're doing, you blunder left and right, and anytime you encounter someone who plays slightly better, be it because the are better or accidenally, it feels like you're playing a GM😂 So many times I thought this guy must have cheated only to find in analysis, they blundered as many or more times than I.
If you really dislike playing here, stick with the other site, if for whatever reason you want to stay, suck it up and work on your chess instead of wasting time on irrelevant non-issues everyone else is facing all the same.
Word of advice, stop resigning your games, I can't even tell you how many times I won, after I blundered a piece or a queen. Play until checkmate or timeout, you'll learn a lot more, and do yourself a favor and check chessbrah Building Habits series
And don't compare ratings on different sites, they don't match
It doesn't matter honestly. Your rating wille eventually end up where it should be
rating is not really the issue. I literally have a 500 point difference between this site and the other. And a FIDE rating would probably be even more of a difference lol. The issue is just playing an opponent at my own level. One should be able to tell by how close the majority of matches are regardless of their rating. Also this is more of an issue for beginners with lower skill levels who have an extra hurdle because of it. Not the high rated players who would not even notice. I mean the topic of this thread is speed runs.
But ask yourself this, if a player knew he was getting speedrun, would he accept it? For the streamers that make it obvious you can tell by watching them the answer is the majority would not by the amount o games they get aborted. Because that fact is it is simply immoral on face value and its not something that children should be taught to be praised for ad revenue. Its not fun for the guy getting trampled and he most likely has no idea it was sanctioned.
Add this to the reasons it should not be allowed, besides the fact it encourages many others to undermine the whole rating system. Its simply not respectable and this is something Hikaru needs to understand. Also a professional player needs to keep his talons sharp and this would lessen his skills, so its silly to be encouraged by "pro" players.
lichess and chess.com use different rating systems and start at different points, hence why they are different. A majority of accounts on both sites were made when chess.com starts you at 1200 and lichess starts you at 1500. In that itself there is a 300 point difference. Again, on the other site, you may play more or less, so the system has less games to take into account, like in my case.
Now, if you were playing the exact same strength, and the exact same amount on both sites, with an equal amount of wins/losses as expected due to the calculations made for elo, then... and only then... is your argument about different ratings valid.
As of now, you've got a scientific experiment with over 3 independent variables, and any middle schooler in science class knows that doesn't make for good results.
Are you playing chess for fun, because you want to improve or for ELO to display next to your name? What does it matter whether you play a speedrun, smurfer or a cheater? True, it can be annoying, but you mostly play blitz anyway and the game is over in 5-10 minutes and you move on. Most accounts are genuine players and in the long run, as you improve your game, your ELO will follow.
I don't want to play people who never played before, and I don't want to play people way above my level. As a competitive gamer I simply want the most competitive matchups. I find that to be drastically lacking on this site compared to the other for beginners. They have everything going for them but that which would retain even more players. Rating aside, I feel smurfing and multiple accounts is the issue.
I know that most of the people on this site have one account, and those that have multiple (and haven't been caught) don't usually play on both equally, so they don't have as many games on that "alt" and therefore are not as prolific in the rating pool. Therefore, there are many less smurfs out there than you think... sometimes 400s just have good games...
400 is also a starting rating that can be chosen on chess.com, so you will be matched with anyone who chooses "beginner" when they create their account. I don't believe that's a problem, you should in theory get the same amount of new/returning players... so don't say that outnumbers the "normal" players you're facing.
*forgot to add that this never troubles 1500+ players, and most of those at the "beginner" level rise somewhat quickly to pass this area, so the issue (if there is one) isn't noticeable to many players, and therefore isn't a high priority for chess.com.
Before you go on about chess.com needing to do this and that, remember they have to maintain the site

I have a pretty similar message to the one on #35 . The only difference being , I wouldn't chose such a harsh language
They can make for fun content. A lot of viewers enjoy seeing high-rated streamers beat up on lower-rated opponents.
Though I would imagine, for the speed-runners, that climbing up through the ranks is likely a bit boring, due to the lack of a challenge.
It would be like a professional MMA fighter going to school to beat up kindergarteners ... You don't even get to use all the techniques you've trained for, because you're basically murdering everyone with one punch ...
Are you sure you don't just get tilted sometimes? Admittedly I don't know why that would just be on here and not on the other site, but you have to realise there is a difference between the ratings on the two sites.
Looking at your stats and games you are showing a 128 point rise in the last 30 days, I would say that you are doing pretty well. I have looked at a few of the people who have beaten you recently, and they look legit, no exponential ratings rise after beating you.
Analysing your games is a good thing to do anyway, and certainly if you think you were playing a higher rated player, if might be a learning opportunity! I would say though it is more likely you made a mistake that you didn't realise, missing a tactic is bad, but openings traps probably sting the worst!

And there I thought I managed to tone it down to a pretty mild and friendly language 😂
Anyway, Coolout is bent on taking a moral high ground. He probably sees the number 950 over there as some sort of appropriate rating and confirmation of his chess qualities and blames his lack of success here on cheaters, smurfers, speedrunners and chess.com. It's easy to miss what's wrong with you when you focus on what's right and wrong and good and bad with and for everything and everyone else.
Having alt accounts is literally human nature that mu8st be curbed, not encouraged.
This, what you wrote, speaks for everything 😂 Basically, everyone should be put in place and things should be controlled, allowed and forbidden in a way, that you see right and fit. Kim would be proud of you🤣🤣
Why? Aren't they basically smurfing and making multiple accounts? Plus, they have the same effect which smurfing does. It messes up the rating pools.
I got muted and my internet knocked offline for an hour saying this very same thing. The problem that this streamers are allowed to do this is the fact they are making it fashionable and thousands are probably doing the same thing because of them. Its especially noticable for below 800 low rated players like myself. The ratings seem to be pointless.
Dude... the ratings are extremely accurate. If you think some high level speedruns affect you, you are delusional. They don't have any affect at all, even if they did... it would be very brief. If someone unfairly loses some rating and they are lower than they deserved to be... then they will gain more for wins and lose less for losses.
Focus on improving your play, stop spending energy on nonsense.

But that's hard, complaining about the wrongdoings of others is way easier and enjoyable😂

If you go by ratings alone why would there be a difference of 550 points between sites? Why a difference betwewen fide? Ratings are meaningless, its all about having competitive matches. If anything the difference might indicate a major hurdle for new players on chess.com. And what could be the cause of that? Chess.com and streamers themselves already know it to have an ill affect and be disrespectful so usually they don't start from 400 anymore, they start from 1200. But even then it should not be something that is allowed. Its not just about the streamers, its about them making such a mockery of the sport fashionable among everyone who wants to imitate them.
You have absolutely zero clue how the rating system functions, especially not at a provincial/starting level and how they affect eachother.
Just so you know, it doesn't matter where you start... you will end up back at whatever rating you deserve if you keep playing.
If you swapped ratings with someone 600 points above you... you both will be back to where you belong sooner than you realize. He will win every game and you will lose every game for awhile.
@CooloutAC judging from your games you ARE being fairly matched. You just aren't happy with being rated around 400. Just accept reality and stop comparing ratings from different websites etc. Last 30 days you have won and lost around the same games and the skill/play in those games have been similar.

why is everyone focused on rating? What does rating have to do why the point i'm making? :Is that something you care about? Maybe thats why people make so many dam accounts. lol I mean then again that is what speedrunning is all about right? I just want to feel like I've had a goot matchup the majority of the time regardless of what my rating is "supposed" to be.
Read your comments, you are the one crying about it and I commented on that. You are the one focused on rating since you are unhappy about yours and look for excuses instead of actually just studying and enjoying the game.
