i have been playing for years now and am stuck at 800. I try my best, but I know that my nationality and skin color are holding me back. Is there a specific gene that makes us dumb americans bad at chess?

Americans have decent genes I think. It’s just a matter of studying chess, instead of just playing

It's the CHS2B gene. It really holds us back.

And grammar. Seems defecting to north Korea hasn't helped.

Yeah, maybe I should get tested for that gene. I was hoping to make GM in a week or two, but if I have that gene, then I may have to stay a patzer...

It is hard to become good at something when you think you are already superior to everyone else.

Holy Crap! I think you’re on to something here. THIS explains everything. I’m so very screwed. I’m going to need another cranberry juice.

that might be why i am less garbage despite not having a coach or studying, just a drunk guy

thats the american spirit in chess basically, you keep failing again and again just beating yourself to feel like a failure despite making small progress. you have depreciation and then keep feeling like garbage cause you cant accept your improvement and just keep going to play more games

Most Americans would rather act an [removed] on social media for likes then learn chess… there are a few Americans who are also to busy to learn chess because they rather learn a skill and make money.

@gunsandchess I like guns and I like chess, but I don’t see how they mix. Does it have something to do with Starbucks?

In any case, if I quote your comment without graying out your colorful language, all of my content on this site will disappear. See https://www.chess.com/forum/view/site-feedback/bots-run-amuck

Oh my fault, let me rephrase:

Most Americans would rather act like inferior animals on social media for likes then learn chess… there are a few Americans who are also to busy to learn chess because they rather learn a skill and make money.

Sorry for the colorful language, I keep forgetting that people are becoming sensitive and fragile.

Plus not sure why it matter if guns and chess mix or don’t mix. But I’ll add that I hate Starbucks, I prefer Folgers in my cups.
