You need to do different things to better various aspects of the game. Just playing games and nothing else will not do, just as solving puzzles and nothing else will not do... Try to find some balance.
Thank you all so much I won 3 matches today and one of them was against a 1500. I really appreciate everyone's help. I now understand how to get better at chess thanks to all you guys.
Monkey see, monkey do. Go over your games and try to see what your opponent did well (if you lost) and try to copy what they did in your next game(s)
Won a few matches and move up.
Expect to lose till it’s figured out.
Expectations of winning are the downfall for many a player - unless being very, very good.

Slow your roll there....just because you won 3 blitz games doesn't mean you now know how to study chess. Have you done any of the following for those games:
Done your own analysis.
Posted the games for review.
Used the Notes section to keep track of your plans, ideas, thoughts, etc?
If I played like my last game in every game - I’d be WC !
But sadly enough- reality enters it’s ugly head.
I have done none of them
Then youre not improving your study habits, which means you are not improving.
What's the note section?
To the right of the board of your ongoing games, there is a tab called "Notes"
Hey bro, I was just going over our game and saw this thread. I took a look at the other game that you lost in the tournament and in both games you made a opening mistake that made you go from 0 to -2. I think if you put some time into looking through opening explorer and getting familiar with lines in the openings that you play then you can become a lot better.
Thanks for sharing that article with me. I'll try my best to follow it.
