Why casual games mostly 5mins blitz and not 3|2 ?

Mostly I'm talking about OTB=over the board here.

Most of the time people playing 5mins blitz, friends house, hustlers, in the parks, etc...

Most of the time it's 5|0 blitz and not 3|2 , why?

The most obvious reason would be that the average chess player doesn't know about increments and simply plays what they think would be a good blitz time without putting much thought into it
