Why did Wang Hao resign? Suspicious

He had very good drawing chances against Nepo but unexpectedly resigned, claiming he was too tired to continue. Any chance he threw the game and the Russians are behind this? They've been wanting a Russian world champion for a long time.

When the interviewer asked Hao to explain why he resigned, Nepo basically talked over top of Hao so he couldn't get a chance to speak. Something seems weird.

Agadmator went over the game and it would only get worse for Hao. Also... If it was a set up why not have him lose instead of resigning? You Russian conspiracy theorists are funny 😆 Giri has two relatively easy opponents left but Nepo has MVL and Liren so it could be Giri in the World Championship.

Maybe Wang Hao finally got bored with chess. He has no other hobbies. It’s all chess chess chess with him.

In the middle of one of the most prestigious tournaments? I don't think so.

My thoughts are 🤔

And you can call me crazy...

I think Liren played bad because he thought Caruana was going to win and then beat Carlsen so we would have an American champion.

Then Liren defeats Caruana in the next world championship so we would have a China defeats USA kind of thing.

Cold War Chess all over again.

People don't become one of the top 15 players in the world by throwing games.

Lol, you think Nepo can win against Magnus Carlsen, the God of Chess?

Magnus has been off form for a year and a half. Yes

Wang Hao isn't even the best Chinese player, how did he even qualify for the Candidates. Anyway he doesn't thave much international experience

China and Russia aren't exactly best buddies, but I bet they would rather have a world champion from a country with a similar communist history than Western Europe or America.

Bumvinnik

Yep. But... I don't see Carlsen losing to any of those guys in a WC. Nepo is the only one with a chance.

I know Karjakin drank the kool-aid, I don't know about Hao.

Caruana would have a good chance, and maybe Giri in a few years.

Nepo hasn't even gotten to 2800 once.
