Why do chess.com players put up fake pictures of themselves as their profile picture?

Finally some recognition from a puny little amoeba. Yes, I'm a young nebula. A noob to all the old farts (hot gas, get it?) around me.

I always have used a picture from MCU movies because I really enjoy them...not pretending to be Chris Evans, Robert D Jr., Tom Holland, Anthony Mackie or Paul Rudd. I just dig the picture

Isn't the image you associate with yourself a more eloquent expression of who you are than the face you were accidentally born with?  You didn't choose your face or hair color, so it says nothing about you as a person, and instead it just gives a hint about your biology and genetics.

It just happens I love Einstein, I've read his books, letters and many quotes. I've followed the dissection of his brain and he played mediocre chess. So what wrong with having AVATARS?
