And this is why infomercials remain popular. "Send me $299.99 and i will send you the "secrets" of how to make millions in the stock market. I always wondered why no one was ever curious why someone had to charge $299.99 when they already know the "secrets' and are already rich.

And we get back to my "Pet Rock" theory. As long as some people feel something as worthles as a rock, aka online rating means something to them, then its not worthless.
Why do people cheat? I mean, there's no reward or prize. So, why have a chess.com rating that's artificial? I suspect that, whatever your chess.com rating, add 150-200 points to that, and you'll have an actual otb rating! People cheating takes the fun out of playing on this site. Do people really get that angry over losing a game? Can't wait to see the fun responses here.
