If you offer a rematch it shows that you can’t deal with the loss.
Why do people ignore rematches? Can't rejecting the invite more sensible?

@borovicka75 Yes, I can't deal with a loss where I narrowly lost or to be honest, any loss. I am always striving to win. Your outlook to chess and life maybe different and you may call it ego but I call it passion. And honestly, at my elo, a chess game does not feel as satisfying- it always feels as you didn't exert your full brainpower, which always inturn leads to a feeling to try again with the same opponent to really see who is better.

As someone who usually doesn't accept rematches (not for any reason other than I like to analyze my games right after I play them) usually they just start a new game or cancel the request after like 5 seconds because I'm just too lazy to click it. If they keep sending me requests then I'll decline
I have no problem with rematches. However, after I finish a game, I go over it with Stockfish. If someone wants to rematch after 10-15 minutes no problem. This is what the top GMs do. On Friday, they finished a big esports event in Saudi Arabia where they did exactly that. They played one game, then took a break, and you could even see the players looking over the completed game with their computer before starting a new one. Sometimes, they went into a room to get ready for the next one. They may have also gotten something to drink, snack on, or perhaps go to the bathroom.
This isn't about being busy or winning/losing, it's just common sense to take a break between games. So, no, I am not going to reject it. I just want to go over the game played. Give us the same rights as the top players in the world. Treat us equally.

One person said they don't accept rematch requests when they win since it increases the odds they'll be playing Stockfish. Anyway, there have been many long threads on this subject and the consensus opinion is that it's perfectly fine to ignore rematch requests, even all rematch requests, for any reason or for no reason.

I am always striving to win... you may call it ego but I call it passion... it always feels as you didn't exert your full brainpower... try again with the same opponent to really see who is better.
You can call it a banana if you like. It's still ego, by the common definition.
People keep ignoring rematch requests. I can understand that they are busy or don't want to play because they narrowly won but why are they not rejecting the matches. Instead, they just ignore it (they are always online) and waste my time? The people who win against me in a way that clearly screams 'superior' always reject or accept. But the people who just win because of a very bad blunder always ignore my request.
