@vahi74 is currently playing 2392 daily games

How do these players manage to play so many simultaneous daily games? Why (and how) did they even start so many?

It is a nightmare for me to even deal with 100 games!

I think this is proof that some of chess.com's members are actually bots. I mean what typa human would even dare play something like 2000 daily games at once? it defies logic if ya ask me

Just because you, a youth, have unlimited time in the world, does not mean a fully-grown working adult does.

wdym. its a wonder how a dude who has like 1000+ daily games at once can even get a chance to make a move in all of the games without losing by time

They play 3+ day games, don’t study or play live chess. I think it’s simple. It could also explain the low daily ratings.

And on the opposite end of the spectrum, you have players such as @PokerBloke99, who averages over 100 games a day for the past 11+ years

He used to almost exclusively play bullet chess, but he's since switched to blitz and rapid. This doesn't really seem to be improving his chess skills, as he still does basically no puzzles and just plays game after game after game.

Many of these games are actually in tournaments, some of which allow for no vacation.

Plus, vacation is not unlimited

ChesswithGautham

I once did 21 games. I am never doing that again

Daily games are beginning to lose their appeal for me. I am in round three of a themattic tounament and nearly half the games have ended on forfeits due to time outs. Also a lot of the games I had in the early rounds were basically exercises on punishing bad moves..I probably played a few of those guys who plays 100s of games a day.

Suppose one player takes 15 seconds for each opponent (5 seconds to open the page and 10 seconds to make a move). That's 4 games per minute or 240 games per hour. That's 2880 games in 12 hours, which is insane.

Even though this could still be spread over days, it's still a large amount of time spent. And I'm only considering 15 seconds per opponent. If the time taken per opponent is more, then...

StumpyBlitzer

Not sure they can play that amount they have massive timeouts and probably as mentioned low quality.

AvayuktD30

If people play simul daily games, then that's possible. You have min 1 day and max 14 days to think, so that's not a big impossible issue.

technical_knockout

i played 20 daily 960 games at once for the 'juggler' achievement & enjoyed it as a fun challenge... won them all but wouldn't want to play that many simultaneously again.  (min is 3 hrs)

It's not just the daily games. These people on here are out of their minds. This is ALL THEY DO. Training, studying, playing bazillions of games and analyzing them, working on tactics endlessly, reading books. It's literally their whole world. The only way to progress in today's computer age of the game is to be just like them which, of course, an incredibly small percentage of people are going to do. They're insane. Hours and hours and hours a day while everyone else lives life.

A life spent on chess is still a life happy.png.

People get into all sorts of things intensely- some of them rather unpleasant - at worst chess is a waste of time but certainly doesn't affect anyone in a bad way. I can't claim to get the maximum out of every minute of my life with 2hrs of watching rubbish on Netflix a day being fairly normal plus at least another hour or so doing nothing useful (browsing cat videos on line, checking in on forums like this, staring out the window etc.)

Don't do the intense chess myself max 10 daily games for me - that's only if at least a couple are 14days move and the rest 3 days.

One day you say play longer time controls and study, the next you make fun of people for trying to get better at chess.

When I play over 10 daily games, I just play moves that are not a blunder, meaning I am not thinking poisitionally. Therefore, the games will be played way lower quality than usual.

2000 Simultaneous Games means a ton of blunders, and it can lose so much daily rating

Even 10 is too many for me. I prefer 5 or 6.

renesby

That's totally suss. Better to concentrate on your own game and let the system take care of them, i.e. they'll be banned eventually.

senagastya21

I have 30 games right now and i am finding it very hard to handle
