Why do you not get your rating back when someone closes their own account recently?

Someone closed their account today and i lost like 30 elo and I don't get my rating back. Why is that??

You don't get points back for self closure

They chose to close their account. Doesn't mean you beat them lol.

If you lose to someone and they later get banned, you get your elo back for the game(s) you played against them. That's it.
