well... so I've been trying to play chess again but you know its really difficult to get back to the skill level where I was... I did hit 2200 again but keeping it at that level now is so much harder because I just don't play chess as much as I use to when I was back at my other school... plus i have less time to play and we cant use our phones while in class so thats hard too.
I reached 2200 and chess.com dropped it to 800 and I think thats not right. I don't worry too much about it because I knew I could work it back to 2200 but it would have been much easier to drop off of 2200 and work back from whatever point I dropped too from being away rather than having to work back from 800 that's harsh.
thoughts? what say you mods? is that right? why did chess.com drop my rating to 800 when I was away because of my parents? & school?
I took a break from chess several years back because I had to concentrate on my studies. and I noticed that Chess.com dropped my rating from 2200 to 800. yup...
That's a 1400 drop in rating. anyone know why chess.com does that? I'm probably not as strong of a player as I use to be when I was in elementary school which is funny because everyone says when you go to high school youre supposed to be better at chess. well i guess they weren't talking about those who stop playing chess for a while..
but just wondering mods... why do you drop our ratings by so much if we have a legit reason for being away from chess? sometimes its healthy to take a break from chess if you have to concentrate on school. my parents convinced me (threatened me) to focus on school rather than becoming a world champion chess player.
