See? This is mate in 1 but chess.com is still looking to see if there are any better moves! But checkmate is best! If you are chess.com staff or know anything about this, please tell me why this happened.
Why does chess.com think that checkmate in 1 move isn’t the best?

Hmmm, that's strange. It shouldn't happen.... Try reloading the page? That might help. If it doesn't work then maybe go back a move, and then see what the computer analyzes. Also, you might try and click the button that says 'Show Lines', and look at what the computer is thinking.

The computer always thinks before every move, idk why, but that's hot it works, but do you need to computer to tell you that it's mate?
The weird thing is that it knows its nate cuz thr move us displayed as nate, maybe uts searching for alternatives 
If it was a real bug, you would post the game, so others could try to recreate it.
But you didn't.

The computer is programmed to check every move. It doesn’t care whether it’s mate or not
