Why does chess make a person rage?

I was no thug so did not attack people.  But I could yell and look like I would hurt people.

It's because you realized you made a mistake, but everyone makes mistakes. Nobody's perfect.

Napoleon Boneparte was short (by modern standards, if not by 17-1800's standards).

He tore Europe apart.

I have remarked my entire life how it's always the little guys who study fighting and martial arts. I was a big bully and this little kid nearly knocked my block off with boxing. We went back to being friends, and I don't think little people are necessarily more violent or rageful than tall people. Or vice versa. You'd have to do a scientific study. Big guys don't have to study fighting cause they can already whip everybody.

I have a friend who is 7' 6". Sweetest, nicest guy you could ever meet. He was once kidnapped somewhere in the Middle East, he goes to Israel a lot, but I don't think he was in Israel. His captors liked him so much they let him go and gave him some money. We were going to rob you, but you're so cool we're gonna let you go. 🤣

6 2 is not majorly tall. I am 6 2.

Are you also non-violent?

That's the link we're exploring... the possibility that taller people are less prone to violent rage.

I have a tendency to smash the crap out of gadgets that don't work properly. I maxed out at 6'4" and have been shrinking bit by bit in my old age but I'm still over 6' and still have a sudden irritation surge that can take me from 0 to 100 in about a second or two.

I'm 6-0 and I don't start trouble.   But I do have a vicious rage issue when others start trouble with me. I think it's caused from my slavery and severe abuse as a child, it likely carries over. However,  I don't rage over chess, never have, it's only a game.

I just played a game where I was down 16, my opponent blundered and hung his queen, and resigned before I could even take it. He still would have been well ahead. Must have been self-rage at the blunder, and self destructive. At our level (900ish) we gotta know we’re gonna blunder. Slap your forehead and get a bit disgusted with yourself but stop way short of rage. Bad emotion, generally speaking.

I got blindsided with a Checkmate by my friend the other day at his house and I never laughed so loud I thought it was so awesome because I never saw it! It was great believe me I am not one to take losing lightly especially in here when you try really hard and you have c h e a t e r s

Because you just have that strong emotion after losing a game you should have won, or when you really want to receive a rating. .

Joined 15 hours ago, posts and closes account. Emotions probably got the best of him.
